Homeowner Stories
From Spare Room to Stylish Sanctuary: One Homeowner’s Office Revive + Restore
The homeowner came to Meadowlark needing help with a dedicated home office for her occasional remote work. Meadowlark helped transform an underutilized room into a warm, functional workspace that complements the home’s Craftsman-inspired character.
The design replaced an outdated L-shaped desk and mismatched shelving with a custom-built straight-run desk—crafted as deep as possible and integrated seamlessly into a new built-in bookcase near the room’s window.
- The top of the bookcase featured open shelving for display, while closed storage below keeps clutter tucked away.
- A drawer bank adds practical storage beneath the work surface, and the corner of the desk was deepened to accommodate dual monitors.
- Painted cabinetry was carefully selected to coordinate with a new wallpaper accent wall of William Morris’s Strawberry Thief print.
- Chair rail detailing added visual richness without overwhelming the cozy space.
The result is a thoughtfully tailored office that fits the homeowner’s current needs while bringing harmony and polish to the room.
“Meadowlark did two projects for us recently. We did a big concrete deck replacement with upgraded railing that was necessary for repairs. We also built a small office with a built-in desk, bookshelves, and wallpaper. They did an excellent job on both projects with emphasis on communication, budget, quality of work, and attention to detail. I’d definitely recommend Meadowlark for design and build services.”

Small Changes, Big Impact: A Home Reimagined Before Move-In
When this homeowner relocated from out of town, they found a house with solid bones and great potential—but it needed a refresh before move-in day.
Meadowlark stepped in with a Revive+Restore approach, updating the home in smart, impactful ways that honored the existing structure while transforming key spaces.
- Throughout the home, fresh paint set the stage.
- In the kitchen, we kept the original cabinetry but gave it new life with a coat of paint, pairing it with updated countertops, a new sink and faucet, stylish tile behind the stove, and new appliances.
- The family bathroom received a similar light-touch transformation: the vanity was painted, countertops replaced, and existing sinks and faucets reinstalled to stay on budget.
- In the powder room, we swapped out the flooring, added a ready-made vanity, and installed eye-catching lighting.
- New hardwood floors were installed in the dining and living rooms, and the remaining first-floor hardwoods were refinished and stained to match.
What is a Revive+Restore Project?
A Simpler Way to Renovate the Space You Already Love
A Revive+Restore project is a focused home refresh that brings out the best in your space, without knocking down walls, rerouting plumbing, or diving into months-long construction.
Instead of starting from scratch, we work with your existing layout and upgrade or refresh the elements that make the biggest impact, such as:
- Cabinets and countertops
- Tile and flooring
- Fixtures and faucets
- Lighting and finishes
- Paint and surface materials
With Revive+Restore, you get all the benefits of a refreshed space, minus the disruption of a full-scale renovation.
We work within the space you already love and guide you through choices that make the biggest impact — from finishes to fixtures and everything in between.
After we finalize the design, our team handles everything that comes next — from ordering materials to keeping the schedule on track.
That means helping you choose materials that fit your style and budget, placing orders so everything arrives on time, and coordinating the schedule so work happens when it’s supposed to — no guessing, no waiting around.
We make sure the right people show up on the right days with the right materials, and we keep things moving so your project finishes on time, just as planned. No chasing down subcontractors. No juggling timelines. No surprises
You stay focused on the vision. We handle the rest.
