A Charming Cape Cod

Whole-home remodel of a classic Cape Cod

“We worked with the homeowners to create useful, functional and restful spaces that they use on a daily basis.”

Light-filled open living space and kitchen created by Meadowlark for this Ann Arbor home.

The Project

Originally built in 1950, this small Cape Cod had lots of charm, but was in dire need of some twenty-first century updates! Our clients wanted a retreat where they could entertain family and friends and create a welcoming, open space for their grandchildren. Meadowlark’s design team worked closely with the clients to create a home that would not only work for their family, but also would maximize the spectacular views overlooking the Huron River in Ann Arbor.

A two-story addition on the back and major structural modifications have transformed this small Cape Cod into a comfortable home that they can enjoy for many years.

Project Size

Before:  1600 square feet
After: 2897 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths
