For Meadowlark, creating educational opportunities for our building practices has long been a part of our company vision. The Behind The Drywall® Tour is your opportunity to see how quality homes are built beneath the finishes. These guided tours through our green custom homes and green renovation projects are fun and educational.
If you’ve ever been curious about geothermal systems, solar power or what goes into a high-performance home, we are ready to show off the latest in green building technology.
The Behind The Drywall® Tour Series was started in 2007 to provide the public with a unique hands-on chance to visit and view the latest in green building techniques and design before the walls are covered.
Meadowlark Builders presents these unfinished home tours to cover the gamut of green building – from design to building technology to green finishes. We talk about life cycles of products and long-term, durable construction. We talk about common-sense green measures that everyone should take, as well as show the most advanced systems available providing the ultimate in comfort and occupant health.
In the age of HGTV, this is a unique opportunity to tour a well-made home in real 3-D, to touch the components, and to see a snapshot of a critical milestone in any building project – just before the walls are covered.
Check out our latest upcoming tour, or peruse past tours. Meet our special guest presenters when we collaborate with new-technology teams, and check out the subcontractors and suppliers who help us make great homes.
And be sure to register early for our upcoming tours – although they are free, they are frequently sold out!
Having toured several Meadowlark homes, we always say "you can tell a Meadowlark house." They all somehow have the same feeling of well crafted, unique, thoughtful, innovative, comfortable.
First things first, they were not the least expensive option (and freely admitted as much from the get-go). However, at the end of the process we felt very strongly that the value was there.
Every member of their group is sincere and carries out commitments with great integrity.
At the design phase, they accounted for our preferences and vision, while steering us away from choices that would have detracted from the house's aesthetic.
