Fit For A Queen – Remodelers Home Tour

September 24, 2015Home Remodeling, Kitchen Remodeling

There’s a nip in the air and some color to the leaves….it must be fall! And with the return of fall comes the annual Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater (BRAG) Ann Arbor’s Remodelers Home Tour. For this year’s tour we are showcasing a stunning Queen Anne Victorian that has been primped, preened, and groomed to take center stage for another 100+ years.

Originally built in 1894 by Arthur and Henrietta Shaw, this Queen Anne Victorian on Professor’s Row in Ann Arbor has a long list of university dignitaries that have called it home, present owners included. Via an intensive design/build process, this home has been brought into the 21st Century while keeping true to its architectural heritage. Poorly done remodeling projects throughout the years, along with the need for major structural updates, mandated a complete gut and rehab. A large addition was extended in the back on the first floor to accommodate a beautiful new kitchen and family area. The result is a home that pays tribute to its past and provides a warm, welcoming environment for all who cross her threshold now and in the future.
