Transformation in Stages

Deep green Craftsman-style home remodel

Much like Ann Arbor’s thriving local community, this resource-efficient home will continue its evolution now and into the future.

Custom bronze and ginkgo leaf stair railing and reclaimed maple flooring

The Project

When the homeowners purchased this home in 2003, it had fallen into a state of severe disrepair. Reclaiming this historic structure was one of Meadowlark Builders’ first projects. The homeowners wanted to modernize the home and make it structurally sound and energy efficient. They also wanted to reclaim as many components of the home as possible throughout the remodeling process.

Master planning and building in stages were key to realizing the full beauty and utility of this 1600 square foot home. Not-So-Big® House design principles were used to create a home that feels more spacious and has all the amenities of a larger home.
